Stagione 2026 | Marie Jacquot [Tamestit] - Teatro alla Scala - 25 maggio 2026

There is no room for rivalry and individualism in music: Marie Jacquot, thirty-five years old French conductor, focused on her priorities very early on. At 14, she abandoned a promising tennis career that had brought her up to the Roland-Garros junior category, because increasing competitiveness compromised the pleasure of the game. At 19, with her trombone, she left France for the more welcoming Viennese environment, where she “had the time necessary to learn to know herself”, studying conducting and cultivating her passion for contemporary music, thanks to which Kirill Petrenko chose her as an assistant at the Bayerische Staatsoper. Always faithful to herself, today Jacquot is at the peak of a career that has brought her to the podium of the main European orchestras, she is the principal conductor of the Royal Danish Theatre and the WDR Symphony Orchestra. At the Teatro alla Scala she debuts together with Antoine Tamestit, French violist specializing in contemporary and twentieth-century repertoire.
