69 Open Rehearsals, nearly 130,000 attendees, over 1.6 million euros raised, 54 associations supported since 2010. These are the impressive numbers of the Filarmonica della Scala’s Prove Aperte (Open Rehearsals), now a fully-fledged music season that each year allows the public to experience the fine-tuning of major concerts at affordable prices while contributing to significant social projects.
A new season begins for this popular charity series, which opens the doors of Teatro alla Scala to the public at low ticket costs, with a social purpose. Four paid events, from March 23 to November 2, 2025, will precede the corresponding concerts of the season and raise funds for four projects by Milan-based non-profit associations. The Prove Aperte 2025 cycle is dedicated to four Third Sector organizations in Milan that implement projects aimed at combating educational poverty: Associazione Angela Giorgetti, Associazione CAF, Cooperativa Zero5, and Fondazione Aquilone.
From child care to fighting poverty, from assisting the elderly and people with disabilities to scientific research and projects for youth in suburban areas, over the years Prove Aperte has helped address various community needs. This has been made possible thanks to the generous participation of the orchestra’s musicians, conductors, and soloists, the collaboration between Teatro alla Scala, the City of Milan, and the Main Partner UniCredit, joined by Esselunga; and finally, thanks to the support of UniCredit Foundation, which identifies the intervention areas, evaluates the projects of non-profit organizations, and helps cover organizational costs.
This concrete commitment to the community was recognized on December 7 with the prestigious Ambrogino d’oro: the Filarmonica della Scala was among the outstanding recipients of the Civic Merit Certificate, awarded by the City of Milan to individuals and organizations—native or adopted—that have significantly contributed to enhancing and developing the city.
